Tips To Trim Your Hair At Home

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

A small fringe gives you a sexy look. But when your eyes are covered by hair, making it difficult to see, it is time to get a haircut. If you do not want to visit a salon for a full haircut, trimming your hair at home can give your hair a fresh look. You should trim 1/8 of an inch each month.

Follow these steps to trim your hair at home:

Take a pair of straightedge cuticle or mustache scissors. Style your bangs as you do normally and tie down the remaining hair. Start from the center of your bangs and then extend outward. Hold a small part (10-12) of your dry hair in your fingers at a time, straight down the forehead. Avoid pulling too tight as it can exert pressure on the hair and you will cut lot more than intended.

Trim and cut the hair that lie below your fingers. This prevents the hair from being cut too short.

After trimming each part, comb it backward and let it mix up with the remaining bangs. This allows you to check the length and evenness before taking other part.

After you have come to the end, go back to the center and start trimming in the other direction till you are finished.
